To reset it it's a bit of a faff, but you have to hold the red, green and push the volume dial in at the same time as switching the kit/car on. (may need to confirm process with user guide as may be different for diff versions of software) Other than that, there's no way to start the update process without the remote. In that case your best bet would be to contact parrot support and see if you can get a replacement from them. Andy Hi Frank,

I have been told that as I have not updated it since I bought it 2 years ago that could be the problem, great but how do you update it if you cant use the remote to go into settings and select upgrade.
